Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, has unveiled a groundbreaking new project called Reliance Intelligence, aimed at positioning India as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI). Announced at the Reliance AGM 2025, this wholly-owned subsidiary will focus on building gigawatt-scale, AI-ready data centers powered by green energy to support AI training and inference at a national level.
Construction for these cutting-edge AI data centers has already begun in Jamnagar, Gujarat, as part of Ambani’s vision to harness India’s growing technological capabilities sustainably. These facilities will be integrated within Reliance’s expansive new energy ecosystem, combining advanced technology with environmental responsibility.
Reliance Intelligence also plans to foster collaborations with leading global technology firms such as Google and Meta, mixing open-source innovations with Reliance’s execution expertise. Ambani emphasized the project’s goal to deliver performance leadership, supply chain resilience, and compliance tailored specifically for India’s AI needs.
Beyond infrastructure, Reliance Intelligence will develop AI-powered solutions for critical sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, and small businesses. This initiative aims to provide accessible, scalable, and affordable AI services to millions, enhancing productivity and innovation across the country.
Another significant focus is on human-centric robotics and intelligent automation. Ambani anticipates that advances in humanoid robotics will revolutionize manufacturing, supply chains, and healthcare with adaptive, autonomous systems. Through this project, Reliance is investing heavily to make India a frontrunner in robotics innovation.
Reliance Intelligence represents Ambani’s latest step in transforming his conglomerate into a technology powerhouse, with plans to create new industries, jobs, and opportunities for Indian youth, setting a vision for a digitally empowered and sustainable future.
